From there, NRG advanced out of Group C via a 2-0 win over Kraken Seas and a very close 2-1 over Marsborne.
In the playoffs, NRG topped a competitive series over Voca before taking a confident 2-0 win over GamerLegion.
The grand finals ended up being NRG's biggest challenge and something of a slog as overtime was the name of the game throughout the series. Dust2 went to quintuple overtime with 48 rounds played before NRG broke the stalemate to win 25-23. Then on Overpass we had another overtime, albeit much quicker, with 9INE taking it 16-14 to tie up the series.
Next up, Inferno was a surprisingly quick wrap-up for NRG as they locked down the map 13-7 before taking an equally quick 13-5 win on Train to win the series 3-1. Alexander "br0" Bro was NRG's standout player in the finals, posting a 1.32 rating in the grand finals.
