LAG advance to ESEA Advanced S55 finals

Last night, LAG booked their ticket in the grand final of ESEA Advanced Season 55 following their win over Fisher College.

LAG defeated ABSOLVED, regain, Outfit 49, and Mythic on their way to the upper bracket final. For Fisher College, who came in with the top seed after posting a perfect 8-0 record in the regular season, they went through Room Temp IQs, Rawkus Cawkus, and Omen leading up to their match with LAG.

LAG elected to start the match on Inferno. Neither side could gain a strong foothold, with Fisher holding a slim 7-5 lead at the conclusion of the first half. LAG flipped the script on Fisher to force overtime in the first map. OT was all LAG, as they went a perfect 4-0 to secure the 16-12 triumph and hold serve on their map pick.

Fisher's map was Nuke, and it was another back-and-forth half to begin the game. This time, it was LAG who came out ahead with a slim 7-5 lead. However, Fisher stormed back on their CT side to take an impressive 13-9 win and force a third map.

Overpass delivered as the deciding map in the series. Neither side could be separated in either half as they were deadlocked at 6-6 and then again at 12-12 to force overtime. The first overtime couldn't separate the teams, but it was LAG who just managed to pull ahead in the second one and take the map and series thanks to their 19-17 victory.

It was Kevin "consti" Yi and Justin "Sandman" Saulle who led the charge for LAG, putting up 76 and 60 frags apiece across the series.

Play will resume in the ESEA Advanced S55 Playoffs on November 12th, as Holy Squid Empire face off with Wanted Goons and Outfit 49 take on Full House.
