Besides Liquid, OG also reached out to DemQQ

DemQQ reveals talks with Liquid, OG that broke down due to war in Ukraine

DemQQ is, unfortunately, stuck in Ukraine at the moment.

Ukrainian player Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko revealed in an interview with the YouTube channel ukraineCSGO that he had talks with Liquid, but the current martial law in Ukraine prevented the negotiations from advancing.

DemQQ also ran into the same issue when OG contacted him, according to a translation provided by a Redditor.

OG really wanted me, they reached out three times. And honestly, at some point, I felt sad because I had to turn them down for the third time. They just don’t have the right connections to organize the paperwork for me to leave. To get me out of Ukraine, OG or any other team would probably need contacts at, like, the presidential office level.

For example, I also talked with Liquid. I explained to every organization what my situation is, that I can’t leave the country because of martial law. I even told them: 'Look at NAVI, they have a mechanism for how they go abroad and come back, maybe you can find out how it works.' They said they were in contact with NAVI, but after that, I never heard back.

Ukraine has been under martial law since February 2022, when Russia invaded the country. Only men between 18 and 22 years old can cross the border freely as of the moment.

DemQQ is 24 years old, and has been on Passion UA's bench since August, when the Ukrainian organization acquired the Complexity core. He previously played for B8 and Monte, and most notably reached the quarterfinals of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 with the former.
