Talented modders aim to bring back Danger Zone in Counter-Strike 2
Counter-Strike 2 map maker LeviN and his team have has created a Danger Zone gamemode on the workshop to port the ambitious Counter-Strike: Global Offensive battle royale game mode to CS2.
Danger Zone was brought into CS:GO via the December 6th, 2018 update and while the gamemode was never the most popular part of Valve's shooter, it had a dedicated fanbase and received multiple updates over the years prior to the launch of CS2. The mode didn't make the transition into CS2 and Valve has made it apparent that the mode will never see an official port into Global Offensive's successor.
A playtest was recently held where users were able to check out the mode in CS2 ahead of its release. Like the CS:GO version, the maximum amount of players was set at 18. In future tests, the creator has said in the map's changelog they will experiment with adding more teams into games. Currently, the game can be played in trios, duos, and solos.
The mod despite being in an early state, with development only starting in July, CS2 Dangerzone is relatively feature complete as many of the assets and features from CS:GO were seemingly easy to port, especially with Valve's recent scripting updates.
The Danger Zone maps can be found on the Steam Workshop here while playtests are run on LeviN's Discord here.
