
Controversial Russian team SENZA provisionally suspended by ESIC
Yesterday the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) issued an interim suspension order against the former players, coaches, and team staff of SENZA, a controversial Russian lineup that has raised eyebrows across the European scene for alleged breaches of ESIC’s Anti-Corruption Code and Code of Conduct, "including possible use of outside information, betting misconduct, and account irregularities."
The team has long been at the center of controversy in the European tier-two and tier-three scene, with numerous high-profile names alleging or alluding to cheating and irregular play, including ENCE analyst Carmine "Fisic0" Lorusso and GamerLegion coach Ashley "ashhh" Battye.
ESIC's decision to suspend the team comes after the squad disbanded in September, with the former lineup forfeiting their matches since then. As such, some of criticized ESIC for doing too little, too late. Additionally, while ESIC defined the scope of the suspended players, they declined to name names, leaving the exact identities of the suspended individuals unknown.
