Fisher College wins ESEA Advanced S55 qualifier

Fisher College survived the single-elimination ESEA NA S55 Advanced qualifier, meaning the collegiate team will compete in the next season of Advanced.

Fisher College defeated Akimbo in a best-of-one final on Mirage, with Þorsteinn "TH0R" Friðfinnsson, Milan "CrePoW" Libbrecht, and Tommy "corn" Eckhart each contributing 17 kills in a decisive 13-6 win.

This is the first we've heard from Fisher College since the players announced back in May that they were disbanding due to the start of summer break, which then forced them to drop out of Advanced S53 playoffs. But with school back in session, the boys have gotten back together and now will compete in the next season of Advanced.

Currently, we don't know what the big prize is that awaits teams that make a deep run in the next season of Advanced. In S53, it was spots in the ECL S50 Cups, but in S54 it was 8,000 in travel support to attend the DreamHack Knockout Atlanta tournament (with a single spot in ESL Pro League S23 on the line).
