Danish organization AaB withdraw from Fragadelphia Blocktober citing coverage changes, expenses
Danish organization AaB has announced their withdrawal from Fragadelphia Blocktober two days before the squad was set to compete in the American LAN, with the organization initially citing the reduced level of coverage for the event before adding that the organization felt the costs associated with traveling to NA for a limited number of potential VRS points was not worth it.
In their extended response, AaB explained that they were one of the first squads to sign up for the then-32 team LAN and with that they hoped to make a deep run against a lower level of competition, thus having more opportunity to gain VRS points from Fragadelphia Blocktober. With the event expanding to 42 teams and then HLTV electing to only cover the top 16, AaB admitted that their chances of gaining any VRS points from the event were low as they would have to "beat teams like BIG, ECSTATIC, Wildcard, or Fnatic for a chance at significant points."
AaB exit Fragadelphia Blocktober a day after Liquid announced their exit from the event citing player illness as the leading cause.
Regardless, Fragdelphia Blocktober will still kick off on October 2nd.
