M80 survives, NRG bottoms out at ESL Pro League S22
The worst result imaginable for NRG has unfortunately taken place at ESL Pro League Season 22, going 0-3 in group stage and putting their direct invite to Stage Two of the Budapest Major in jeopardy.
After suffering loses to GamerLegion and Legacy, NRG needed to rebound against Fluxo if they had any hopes of staying alive at EPL.
NRG started of on the wrong foot, failing to convert on Nuke, as they were unable to score any T-side rounds in the second half other than the pistol. Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves put on a CT-side masterclass for Fluxo.
On Train, NRG fell into a huge 5-12 hole after a quiet T-side and a poor start to their CT-side. Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek attempted to fuel a late comeback, reducing the deficit to 11-12, but a disastrous 3v3 retake attempt featuring a bungled flash in the final round denied NRG overtime and knocked them out of Pro League.

M80 stayed alive with a win against Rooster, comfortably taking down the Australians 2-0 with a decisive 13-6 win on Mirage and a 13-3 win on Inferno. An all-around team performance moves them into round four

With the loss to Legacy earlier this event, with the 0-3 showing at EPL, and with Passion UA cruising into their second straight LAN finals at the Urban Riga Open 1, it feels like a guarantee that NRG will not claim the direct Stage Two spot in the Major.
In all likelihood, FURIA and paiN will start in Stage Three, Passion UA and Legacy will begin in Stage Two, and both NRG and M80 will start in Stage One.
