AZR has begun his coaching career

AZR reunites with jks on FlyQuest

The debut didn't go as planned, though.

FlyQuest appointed Australian veteran Aaron "AZR" Ward as their head coach for DraculaN Season 2. The move marks AZR's first step as a coach, and also his reunion with Justin "jks" Savage, with whom he played together in Vox Eminor, Renegades, and 100 Thieves.

They played together for six years, and notably won StarLadder i-League Invitational Shanghai in 2017, and finished top four at the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.

FlyQuest have been on the hunt for a new coach ever since benching Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga in August. The Mongolian coached them for nearly two years.

AZR had been on the sidelines since March, when TALON dropped their roster. Curiously, he's also reuniting with Corey "nettik" Browne, with whom he played on TALON.

Unfortunately for AZR, his coaching debut didn't go as planned, as FlyQuest were upset by BASEMENT BOYS, an unranked team, in their DraculaN Season 2 debut earlier today.

FlyQuest will now have to fight through the lower bracket, starting with Metizport. It's currently unclear whether AZR will stay after the Romanian LAN.

FlyQuest are:

  • Australia Joshua "INS" Potter

  • Australia Declan "Vexite" Portelli

  • Australia Corey "nettik" Browne

  • Iulian "regali" Harjău

  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage

  • Australia Aaron "AZR" Ward (Coach)
