Could EliGE be coming home?

Media: Liquid target EliGE as Twistzz's replacement

EliGE was previously a franchise player for Liquid.

According to an X post by self-proclaimed esports insider Vladislav Gromov, Liquid are set to unveil NA superstar Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski as Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's replacement on their Counter-Strike 2 roster, seeing the player return to the organization he represented for eight years. The reported move follows the completion of Twistzz's transfer to FaZe last week, which has left Liquid a player short ahead of the upcoming StarLadder Budapest Major.

Should Gromov's report come to fruition, it would see FaZe and Liquid essentially swap their NA talents as FaZe previously benched EliGE on August 22nd after an underwhelming season with the former Complexity player.

A potential return for EliGE to Liquid would be a significant coup for the organization as EliGE was one of the organization's franchise players, having represented TL for the majority of CS:GO while playing a significant role in all of the team's notable achievements.

He left the organization to join Complexity in mid-2023 amidst Liquid's international pivot, a decision that has led Liquid down a path of underwhelming roster moves and mixed results over the past two years. With EliGE, Liquid would likely hope to recapture their success from the golden era of the team.

It would remain to be seen how he would slot into the systems set in place by Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek, however he should provide a significant firepower boost to the team regardless.

Should this move come to fruition, Liquid would consist of:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak

  • Guy "NertZ" Iluz

  • Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek

  • United States Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski

  • Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea (Coach)
