KSCERATO and yuurih secure first S-tier trophy after 7+ years with FURIA
Today FURIA took down The MongolZ in a thrilling 3-2 series to win FISSURE Playground 2, securing the team their first trophy after pivoting to an international lineup with Danil "molodoy" Golubenko and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis.
While this was a massive day for the entire Brazilian organization, the win is especially poignant for FURIA's longest serving soldiers Yuri "yuurih" Boian and Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato as the duo can now finally boast an S-tier after more than seven years on FURIA's books.
When yuurih and KESCERATO joined FURIA early in their careers, the Brazilian scene was still on top of the worlds with teams like SK and Immortals regularly contending for trophies at CS:GO's most prestigious events. When FURIA finally joined and then surpassed the then-MIBR squad as Brazil's top squad they were regularly considered one of the best teams in the world however during former FURIA IGL Andrei "arT" Piovezan's time at the helm a true S-tier result eluded the squad.
In fact, until today the only other time FURIA had been in an S-tier finals, as defined by Liquipedia, was the Esports Championship Series Season 7 Finals all the way back in 2019.
As such, taking down one of the world's best teams in the form of The MongolZ is truly a spectacular achievement for FURIA and may very well propel them, and Brazil, into being regular trophy contenders especially with the amazing import talent of molodoy leading the way.
