Astralis has missed four Majors in a row

Astralis acquired by new owners including former Astralis founder, former NIP COO

Astralis co-founder Jakob Lund Kristensen is back at the helm of the organization.

Astralis has been acquired by investor group Fusion Esports, which Astralis co-founder Jakob Lund Kristensen and former Ninjas in Pyjamas COO Jonas Gunderson lead.

In a statement on LinkedIn, Astralis said that the investor group has "global ambitions."

The sale comes after previous reports that Astralis was facing financial trouble and would need to either sell to new owners or shut down.

Kristensen also founded and was the CEO of CPH Wolves, which was the home for future Astralis players Nicolai "device" Reedtz, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander.

Kristensen had this to say in the previously mentioned LinkedIn post:

Our priority is always to give players the best conditions to succeed – long term.
