Breaking: CLASIA benched at SkinRave after poor behavior during practice, refusal to play for the team
In a shock move, SkinRave have announced the benching of Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney, seeing the American cut from the successful roster just keeps before invites are set to be sent out for the StarLadder Budapest Major. In a statement on X, the organization said that CLASIA had been removed due to "recent behavior within the team."
Notably, CLASIA was absent from SkinRave's most recent match against Wanted Goons in ESL Challenger League Season 50 Cup #2, forcing Tommy "Axed" Ryan to step in for the team, something he will now do for the remainder of the event due to the roster lock.
SkinRave's manager Marvin "Punico" Matthes told Dust2.us in a comment that CLASIA had been benched as a result of poor behavior in recent practices that escalated to the 22-year-old refusing to play for the team, necessitating his removal from the lineup.
CLASIA's poor behavior and sudden refusal to play for SkinRave comes as the team are fighting for a spot in the upcoming StarLadder Budapest Major after months of strong results, possibly jeopardizing the team's qualifications.
To make matter worse, SkinRave will need to play four more ranked matches to remove CLASIA from their VRS roster, a task complicated by the team turning down invites to the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #4 and other upcoming events. This could result in CLASIA being given in-game stickers while actively refusing to play for his team.
CLASIA's removal from the SkinRave is the latest incident in a career that has been plagued by attitude and commitment issues. CLASIA has previously been cut from teams including RBG, Gaimin Gladiators, and Evil Geniuses Black due to attitude issues.
CLASIA also infamously slept through a match in ESL Challenger League playoffs back in 2022, forcing his Vendetta teammates to forfeit the match.
