snav on recent roster changes: "dea was our best option by far"
Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke with Wyatt "snav" Phillippi after Getting Info cruised through the group stage at Fragville 2025.
snav commented on the return of Dani "dea" Ediev, his own decision to join Getting Info, and the squad's hunt for an organization.
The interview can be found below on YouTube or in text form underneath that. All questions and answers have been slightly edited for length and clarity.
No serious challenge in locking in playoffs, how are you feeling coming out of day one?
We're feeling pretty good. Looking at the teams going into the event, we expected to go through pretty easily.
There was no serious doubt that you would crush the opposition, playing a collegiate team and an academy team. It's good to see there was no interruption to your recent success.
I saw you guys joking around a lot in the server; it's clear the team environment is good right now. It comes off the back of some recent roster changes where you brought dea back into the fold. Can you explain the decision to bring dea back into the team?
When dare stepped down from the team, we looked at our options and dea was our best option by far. He's been really good since he joined back, so we're glad to have him.
What led him to leave the roster in the original iteration of Getting Info with nosraC and XotiC?
I think it was just after they failed to make the Major, the team vibes weren't very good. I think dea just wanted a break, so he stepped down from the team.
With dea joining the squad, we saw slump take on more of a rifling role. I know you said on the Dust2.us Eagle Masters broadcast that slump wants to be more of a rifler, which was surprising. He came into fame for his AWPing performances on teams like FLUFFY AIMERS. Do you know why he wants to change and be a rifler?
I'm not sure the exact reason, I imagine it's because in CS2 it's harder to be an AWPer with high impact. He's really good with the rifle, too, so I'm sure that's the reason.
More generally, how are you feeling about the team? You made the decision to leave your previous team, BOSS, to join this Getting Info squad. Are you happy with the decision?
Yeah, I'd say I'm happy with the decision because I get to play with my friends and we're playing better than we were when I left BOSS.
This reunites you with shane and briefly with dare, your old confederates from the timbermen roster. It was a big move to finally leave that trio and carve your own way in the NA scene. What's it like to reunite with these guys, is it under different terms now or is it the guys getting back together?
It's both, I think all of us have gotten a lot better, playing on our own. It's also nice to play with your friends.
Is there any risk of falling into old habits or the fact that this team is less serious than other projects you've been on recently?
I wouldn't say so, we're still practicing and putting up good results against top NA teams.
You have an outside shot of making the Major, one of the reasons you lost some VRS points was that online loss we saw in the Grand Final of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series against SkinRave. What do you make of that match against them? How do you feel the team performed?
I think we played pretty well. On Overpass, we started really slow which cost us the series in the end. On Nuke, we played pretty well until the last OT when we ran out of steam. We lost both pistols and both first gun rounds on Nuke, so to bring it to OT, we played well. On Dust2, we played well and won that one. So I'd say it comes down to Overpass and the pistols on Nuke.
One thing with this squad at Fragville is that SEMPHIS wasn't able to make it. You've been working with him for a couple of months. What's it like working with SEMPHIS?
It's good, he's a chill coach. He's not super heavy into strats or tactics. He tries to keep the players in check and he does a lot for us behind the scenes.
What do you mean by keeping players in check? Keeping emotions focused on the game or reducing tilt?
Yeah, it's things like that. He tries to keep people focused on the game when things don't go our way.
One thing that holds this Getting Info squad back is the fact that you've been orgless for some time. How is the org hunt going? Have you had any interest from NA orgs?
Not really any orgs, we've talked to a couple, but there's nothing set in stone. We're still searching for an org.
What would you want from an organization?
The main thing we're looking for is a salary, something around a BLUEJAYS or Marsborne kind of level.
How are you feeling about your chances heading into the playoffs, where you'll likely have to face Brazilian or European opposition in the round of sixteen or round of eight?
We're feeling good, looking at the bracket right now, we're most likely going to play GameHunters in the playoffs. We're feeling confident against them. After that, I don't know who we're going to play. We're ready to play anybody, even NIP.
