M80 played well, but struggled on the final map

M80 take MOUZ to three maps, but get knocked out from BLAST Open London

GGs, M80.

M80 put up a good fight today against MOUZ at the BLAST Open London quarterfinals, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough. The European team survived the upset thanks to a dominant performance on Inferno, the series' decider.

Ancient: MOUZ 13-10 M80

Despite it being M80's map pick, it were MOUZ who called the shots, at least in the first half. Their defense conceded just four points, which proved essential for the victory.

This is because M80 also had a decent CT-side, and even tied the scoreboard 9-9, thanks to some great retakes. However, Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás won a crucial 1v1 to put MOUZ ahead again, and they never looked back.

Mirage: M80 13-9 MOUZ

Losing Ancient didn't affect M80, as they put on a masterclass on the CT-side of Mirage, winning it by 10-2. Their reads were good, and everybody was hitting their shots.

MOUZ started to pile rounds in the second half, and things got scary for a moment, but a 1v2 clutch by Jadan "HexT" Postma secured the map.

Inferno: MOUZ 13-3 M80

This series was a true tale of CT-sides, as the first half was once again decisive. MOUZ got to start on the defense once again, and they humbled M80's T-side, losing only two rounds. It could have been better, but an ace from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi pretty much sums up that first half.

M80 went on to lose the second pistol, and the game was pretty much over after that. Spinx truly carried in the decider, as you can see below.

Although M80 will lament that they didn't go further in the BLAST Open London playoffs, their results in the tournament practically secured them a spot in the StarLadder Budapest Major. They also played well today, especially considering it was their first arena match.
