Vitality edge out Liquid in BLAST Bounty Season 2
Liquid are out of BLAST Bounty Season 2 after losing to Vitality in the quarterfinals this Friday, August 15th. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and co. put up a good fight, but Vitality held their nerve and closed out both maps in overtime.
The game started on Train, which Liquid picked. Despite it not being one of Vitality's best maps, they only lost three rounds on their CT-side.
This forced Liquid to bring their A-game to their own CT-side, and they did so, surviving six map points to force overtime. However, they couldn't carry the momentum into overtime, and Vitality ran away with the map.
The series switched to Nuke, and Liquid had two map points in their hands after winning six rounds in a row on their T-side. But Vitality showed some of their mental fortitude, not only forcing overtime, but also winning it.
Robin "ropz" Kool and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut top-fragged, as they posted great numbers on both maps. Unfortunately, nobody on Liquid came close to matching their firepower.
Liquid will have some days to analyze this match and prepare to play Vitality again, this time in their Esports World Cup 2025 debut on August 20th.
