ESEA Season 54 NA Elite Cup 1 reaches playoffs

The group stage of ESEA Elite Cup 1 has concluded, leaving eight teams remaining with a chance at two spots in the first ECL Cup.

In reaching the quarterfinals, each of the teams still standing had to qualify through a four-team, four-group, double-elimination GSL group stage.

In Group A, MONEY CREW bested drugs n pugs in their opening match and then received a forfeit win over Getting Info to qualify for playoffs. Getting Info meanwhile bested Akimbo in their opening series, forfeited to MONEY CREW due to a scheduling conflict, and then bested drugs n pugs 2-0 to advance.

Group B's top two teams were True Synergy and Aether, with TSG sweeping the group and Aether qualifying via the elimination match v. Atlantis.

LAG easily advanced through Group C, and they were joined by JERSA, who defeated R9 to qualify for the playoffs.

In the final group, InControl advanced with a 2-0 record, despite having just a positive two round-count across the group stage. They'll be joined in the playoffs by Sports Bet Expert, who defeated Aspyre (formerly regain) in the decider match.
