Seb is looking to climb back up with Zomblers

Seb: "I can't blame Vagrants for cutting me, things were not meshing too well"

Seb is enjoying life in Zomblers.

Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" caught up with Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich after the first day of Fragadelphia 19, where Zomblers stayed alive in stage one despite a loss to NuTorious. Seb commented on his team's performance at FRAG, being cut from Vagrants, joining Zomblers, and his young teammate Andrii "Sanzh1k33" Drobotia.

The entire interview is available in video format below, with select sections presented in text format underneath. All questions and answers have been slightly edited for length and clarity.

Long day for you guys, but you stayed alive in stage one. How are you feeling after the first day?

Pretty good, we had a bit of a slow start, getting used to playing at this venue and together. I'm happy with how the day ended, with a W.

You recently joined this Zomblers team after being cut from LAG, where you played for a long time under the Vagrants tag. What do you think happened that led to your dismissal from the lineup and being replaced by Wolffe.

I could attribute it to a few things, maybe my lack of performance towards the end of my tenure. I can't blame them too much. Towards the end, we weren't meshing too well. I still have a lot of love and respect for the guys. Ultimately, Wolffe has been in the scene for much longer than me and playing at a pretty high-caliber for a while. I was a little upset but I completely understood and can't help but root for them, still.

You spent some time in free agency before moving on to Zomblers. As Vagrants/LAG were a top-level ECL and Zomblers are a high-level Advanced team, do you feel like you're taking a step back in your career?

I could see how some people could think that. To be honest, I just wanted to play. Getting to know these guys, it's been a fun time. It's been meshing pretty well. Only time will tell how high we can shoot. No, I don't think this is a step back. Maybe, in terms of an ECL to Advanced move, but with how the formats been changing with the ECL Cups, I don't see it as a step back. Some of the lower ECL teams are playing Advanced this season, so it's not a step back.

Looking at the future of this roster, one player who I find interesting is your star rifler Sanzh1k33, who isn't at this event. What can you tell me about him?

Sanzh1k33 is a pretty young talent, a Ukrainian player. He is currently 15, and I believe he had some last-minute complications and couldn't make it to this event. He's been very promising. To me, he's a rising star. He has a lot of talent, but he's always humble and willing to learn and listen. I think there's a lot of potential there. Hopefully, we can get him to the next LAN that we attend together.

Zomblers defeated Take Flyte to advance to stage two, where they ultimately faced elimination after two losses to Chicken Coop.
