Minus steps down from BOSS to focus on studies and his mental health
Marshall "Minus" Sedowicz has retired from Counter-Strike, at least for now, he announced on June 24th. The 22-year-old had been playing with BOSS throughout the month, however, his announcement stated he feels he needs to retire to "focus on school and trying to get in a good spot mentally" amidst ongoing struggles with mental health.
This means that Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #2 will be Minus' final tournament with BOSS. He joined BOSS after being cut from Marsborne at the end of May, despite playing well.
This isn't the first time that Minus put CS aside to take care of his mental health. The youngster stopped playing competitively in 2022 and came back in 2025 to play with Marsborne. He opened up about his mental health battle with schizoaffective disorder last December via his account on X.
BOSS play Tsunami tomorrow, June 27th, so there's a possibility that Minus adds another EMS trophy to his cabinet as he won the first EMS with Marsborne and was the MVP of the event.
Following the conclusion of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #2, BOSS will be reduced to:
-
Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan
-
Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman
-
Wyatt "snav" Phillippi
-
Matthew "d4rty" Paplawskas
