dumau and Legacy just keep on delivering

dumau after thrashing Vitality: "We respect them, but at the end of the day, we are all humans"

It looked like Legacy were the team on a 30-match win streak, not Vitality.

After finishing Stage Two with a surprising 3-0 record, Legacy kicked off their Stage Three journey in the best way possible, as they cruised past Vitality and effectively ended their 30-match win streak in round one.

Dust2.us' Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore got hold of Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer after Legacy upset Vitality, and you can watch or read dumau's interview below.

All questions and answers have been slightly edited for clarity.

It's no small feat to take down Vitality, take down ZywOo and apEX, this legendary squad so easily. Did you feel confident in your game plan versus them?

Yeah, I had confidence. We are very confident in lux and what he says, [because] he's a very good captain, a great IGL, and we're just focusing on ourselves. I know it's Vitality; they're a great team with great players. We respect them, but at the end of the day, we are all humans. We can fail, we can lose, we can win, and we can have great moments with courage, but we're all humans, and we fail at some point. We just believe in ourselves and just focus on our game.

Truly, we just focus on our game, and not much [on other] things. We are just trying to adapt and believe in the magic that happened in the game.

Speaking of magic, you fought your way through the entire Major. Legacy went from not even being invited to getting through Stage One and Two. Now you're starting off Stage Three with a win. How does it feel to be two wins away from the playoffs?

To be honest, individually, I'm putting myself away from these things because I truly believe that winning and losing can happen on the same day. You need to keep focusing on [the present], what you can do to get better, and really, what you need to do in-game to win. That's really our focus now. If you think too much about these things, you will be like a spectator of the game.

We will not be the ones who play, so we're just trying to play our game and control our game. [This way], you're not being played by the game, you're playing the game.

In this win over Vitality, who do you want to give kudos to on your team? Who do you want to give a special thanks for making this win possible?

Oh, all five of us, all six, all seven — even our manager. Everybody is doing a great job. There are no specific people on this team, it's everybody helping each other, trying to win, and doing the best they can every day. Even if you have something bad in your body or mind, you try to take the best one and channel it through the game.
