The entire interview is available below in text or video form. The questions and answers have been slightly edited for clarity.
Congrats on the win. You stay alive here in Austin. I don't think many people would have expected to see this from Falcons in this early stage of the Major. Are you satisfied with the win today?
Yeah, of course. I'm satisfied especially because of how yesterday went we didn't expect to lose the first two games like that. We played pretty bad yesterday and we didn't play as we usually do. Maybe we underestimated some of the teams a little, thinking that we should be winning these games. But, it's the Major, it's best-of-ones so every little mistake can cost you the game.
What do you attribute to the sluggish start yesterday? A lot of people were expecting Falcons to be a playoff contender, so going 0-2 is definitely not the start that the team and the fans were expecting.
We didn't come with our heads ready. I think our thoughts were maybe already in the next stage or in the playoffs. That's our mistake because everyone expects us to win and we also have high expectations of ourselves. Maybe we underestimated the teams we played yesterday but they are good teams and they punished us for our mistakes.
m0nesy had a particularly rough start yesterday and in map one against OG. Do you think he's in good form right now? Was it something mental that got the best of him at the beginning of Stage 2?
No, he's definitely in form. Two best-of-ones will not change my opinion of that. Obviously, he didn't have the best games yesterday. It was just two best-of-ones, and the whole team played badly in general, so of course it's hard for him to play well. I have no doubt that he's going to bounce back, and he already did today in the second and third maps.
With this win in hand against OG, does this feel like a breakwater for you guys? Are you ready to hop into the best-of-three again tomorrow and perform the way many would expect Falcons to play?
Yeah, this win should give us some confidence. Yesterday, our confidence was really low after the two games, so this win should help us with that. I think the most important thing is to take it game by game and not have our thoughts in the future. I think that should help us.
First Major for you under Falcons after multiple attempts by the organization to get in. Does it feel good to reward them after putting so much money, time, and energy into building this roster?
I'm definitely happy to be part of this team and part of the first Major that Falcons are in. The last few months have been good with Falcons and the expectations for the future are even higher. I'm happy to be here and for the organization.
What are the priorities for the best-of-three tomorrow? What are we looking at to continue the winning ways?
We should focus and improve our mental. For example,we had a good lead on the T side of Dust2 we just needed to stay calm and finish the game. Some things happened and we lost control. If we fix our mental and keep playing the way we did on the second and third maps, we should be good.
