NRG defeat COL in NA derby at BLAST.tv Austin Major, pushing them to brink of elimination
NRG dismantled Complexity in the NA derby today, and are now one win away from advancing to the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 2.
Complexity, on the other hand, will have to survive back-to-back elimination games on June 5th and 6th to avoid an early elimination from the first U.S. Major in seven years.
The teams met in the 1-1 pool of the Austin Major, and NRG enjoyed a flying start on the CT side of Inferno, locking down both bombsites and making Complexity's life very hard, which enabled them to win the first half by 8-4.
Almost every NRG player showed up on the scoreboard, but Jadan "HexT" Postma and Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott were the main contributors with 14 kills each. And as everyone could have predicted, HexT was having a field day and trash-talking Complexity in plenty of rounds.
However, like almost every Inferno game, the game stopped being one-sided as Complexity found some consecutive rounds at the beginning of their CT side.
The game was tied 9-9 when NRG found back-to-back rounds by attacking the A site. This ultimately left Complexity's economy in a dire state, and they lacked the resources to put up a fight and force overtime.
HexT kept finding kills in the second half, and top fragged the match.
NRG will play their first advancement match tomorrow, and Complexity will play their first elimination series.
