Wildcard off to a perfect start in BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 as they win a nailbiter vs. Lynn Vision
Wildcard are now just one win away from advancing to Stage 2 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, following a hard-fought victory over Lynn Vision in the second round of Stage 1. They crushed Metizport with a 13-1 victory earlier in the day.
Lynn Vision and Wildcard met at the 1-0 pool, and the NA team prevailed despite all the difficulties that Lynn Vision and their former player Su "C4LLM3SU3" Qihao imposed.
Lynn Vision enjoyed a 5-1 lead thanks to a strong start on their CT-side, but Wildcard had some good reads and individuals like Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek and Tim "susp" Ångström stepped up to salvage their T-side.
The first half finished 6-6, and the best play was this susp ace below, which saw Wildcard revert a 2v5 situation.
The back-and-forth continued in the second half, and Wildcard vs. Lynn Vision became the first match of the Major to be decided on overtime.
Joshua "JBa" Barutt played a crucial role in that as he killed four players with his Deagle in a round Wildcard were down to just pistols.
When it looked all but over to Wildcard in the first overtime, Joshua "JBa" Barutt came forth once again and found a couple of crucial frags to force OT #2.
From there, Wildcard took a deep breath and carried the momentum to OT #2, even though Lynn Vision tried their best to force a third overtime.

Wildcard will now rest and prepare to play their first advancement match at the BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 1 tomorrow, thus entering the best-of-three territory. As for Lynn Vision, they have one final best-of-one to decide whether they go 1-2 or 2-1.
