HooXi: "Most people in this industry don't remember more than your last game"
Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Richard Lewis had a funny interaction at PGL Astana today, May 13th after Astralis qualified for the playoffs.
Richard Lewis was a known critic of HooXi during his time in G2, when he often struggled individually. The Brit took the opportunity to ask HooXi himself whether he thinks the criticism from pundits is fair or unfair.
HooXi offered a candid answer, which has become rare as time passed and esports became more serious.
Honestly, most people in this industry don't remember more than your last game. So, I don't take it too heavy, too hard.
Some things were unfair, some things were fair, like obviously my individual level looks like shit. But I think no one notices how many weapons I drop, how many times I run first, how many times I do this and that.
It's just too easy to look at the stats and say like 'what, minus 10 [K/D], holy shit.'
After that the desk address HooXi's form in PGL Astana, which is far better than most of his time in G2. The Dane averaged a 0.99 rating after 10 maps and won some important rounds for Astralis in the group stage, most notably the round below versus Virtus.pro today.
HooXi said the break he took from competition allowed him to focus more on his individual game.
"I just play way more DM, and I just tried to play a lot of FACEIT in my break because obviously I don't have to prepare practice and stuff," HooXi said.
HooXi and Astralis will have time to rest a bit before they start preparing for the PGL Astana quarterfinals on Friday, May 16th.
