Complexity is one team likely will rely on a substitute in Austin

BLAST extends Austin Major roster registration deadline by four days, but only for MRQ teams

A rule clarification has given MRQ teams an extra four days to finalize their rosters.

BLAST has extended the roster registration deadline for teams that qualified for the Austin Major through the MRQs through May 9th, as first reported by Dust2.br.

The extension comes as a result of an inquiry from Complexity General Manager Graham "messioso" Pitt, who raised a question about article 3.2 of the Major rulebook. The rule says that teams can "register a different coach or substitute player" between the MRQ and the Major. Messioso sought clarification that a team could change both a coach and a sub, which Valve confirmed, leading BLAST to extend the deadline for MRQ teams to Friday, thus allowing teams to make additional adjustments.

As noted by HLTV, teams can register players who competed in the MRQ but failed to qualify as substitutes.

Coincidentally, Complexity has added Eric "adreN" Hoag as a coach AWPer Paytyn "junior" Johnson as a substitute to their roster, as Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli is doubtful to compete due to ongoing visa issues.
