mahone will begin to upload YouTube content again as he steps down from NiP

mahone steps down from Ninjas in Pyjamas

The Canadian will be focusing on content creation heading into the future.

Danny "mahone" Hsieh has officially stepped down from his analyst position after a one-year tenure with the Ninjas in Pyjamas organization. The move follows Björn "THREAT" Pers' transition from head coach Technical Director for CS:GO earlier in the month.

The Canadian joined NiP back on November 13, 2020, and during his tenure the team had some strong results, coming second during Flashpoint Season 3, first at Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: Europe, 5-8th at PGL Major Stockholm, and most recently second at Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter. This has resulted in them currently being ranked fifth on HLTV's rankings with their peak ranking being second in October.

mahone has told Dust2.us that he wants to focus on content creation heading into 2022 as his heart and skillset lie there moreso than working with a team.

mahone made his way up the North American scene playing for Prospects during MDL Season 28 and later retired, deciding to coach for The Gaming Stadium through 2019. Throughout 2019, he would start to upload more analytical YouTube content, catching the attention of many prominent members in the scene.

NiP are now:

  • Sweden Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
  • Sweden Nicolas Gonzalez "Plopski" Zamora
  • Sweden Hampus "hampus" Poser
  • Denmark Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz
  • Denmark Patrick "es3tag" Hansen

NiP will look to continue their success in 2022, but reports by 1pv.fr and Dexerto hint that Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is looking to return to Astralis now that he has moved back to Copenhagen from Stockholm. The Dane has since called the reports "nonsense".
