LEARSI and Eros have defended their spot in ESEA Premier

Detonate and Eros advance to ESEA Premier Season 39; Third Impact and Valors sent down to Advanced

Yesterday's results have effectively sent Third Impact into rebuild mode.

With yesterday's second round of matches complete, Detonate and Eros have secured a place in ESEA Premier Season 39, while Third Impact and Valors find themselves leaving Relegation early and empty-handed after going 0-2 in their matches this weekend.

In the first upper bracket tilt Detonate found themselves squaring off with a Premier gatekeeper of sorts in Mythic, who have found themselves in Relegation for the past two seasons. The stream team pushed Christopher "Swahn" Swahn and company to the limit on their own map pick, requiring Detonate to play all thirty rounds to secure the win, then quickly bounced back with a convincing win on Vertigo to even the series. Swahn would not be denied a return to Premier however, as he dropped 30 kills and posted a 1.76 rating on Overpass to win the series for Detonate and send Mythic to the lower bracket.

In the other upper bracket qualification match Eros successfully defended their spot in Premier thanks largely to huge performances from Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore. Cryptic finished with 32 and 33 kills on Nuke and Mirage, respectively, helping put Eros over the edge in the latter map to secure the decider in overtime. Matthew "D4rtyMontana" Paplawskas top fragged for Northern Forces in their map win on Inferno, finishing with a server-best 24 kills.

The first map of the elimination match between Big Chillin and Valors was fiercely contested and required overtime to separate the two squads. Devin "Xzen" Barber and Damian "droid" Boulware both surpassed thirty kills for Big Chillin, as did Cedric "Melio" Perrault for Valors. Big Chillin eventually prevailed and then ran away with map two to complete the series sweep. Valors will return to ESEA Advanced for Season 39.

The unfortunate circumstances that left Third Impact playing with their coach, Calvin "becker" Becker, continued to plague the ESEA Premier side in the final elimination match yesterday. Third Impact managed to keep Inferno relatively close and took Overpass in close fashion as well, but were emphatically sent down to ESEA Advanced in the wake of a strong decider win on Mirage by Synthetic. Andrew "Tender" Cote and Graham "GRAHAM" Smith finished with 67 and 68 kills in the series, respectively, while no one on Third Impact managed to reach sixty.
