FlyQuest RED claim Thunderpick World Championship NA Series #2 Fe Wildcard spot
FlyQuest RED defeated the newly-signed TSM Shimmer in the grand finals of the Thunderpick World Championship NA Series #2 Female Wildcard with a 2-1 score to advance to the Thunderpick World Championship NA Series #2 Closed Qualifier, where they will fight for a spot in the Thunderpick World Championship against 15 other invited teams that may be comprised of any combination of players of any gender.
The new Wildcard event promoted by Thunderpick saw four all-women teams battling in a single-elimination bracket for just one spot in the second NA CQ. FlyQuest RED started their campaign with a 13-9 win over a Limitless Angels squad that featured three stand-ins, whilst TSM Shimmer won 13-9 against Karma to claim the other grand final spot.
FlyQuest RED kicked off the grand final with an 8-4 CT-side on Dust2, followed by a flawless T-side to win the map 13-4. TSM Shimmer replied with a 13-10 win on RED's pick of Anubis, but Vertigo went FlyQuest RED's way after yet another solid T-side which helped the team get the 13-6 win.
With this win, FlyQuest RED are advancing to the Thunderpick World Championship NA Series #2 with $2,500 in their pockets. The Closed Qualifier will start on June 4th with 15 more invited teams who are yet to be announced.
