vsm is taking full advantage of Valve walking back their stance on childhood VAC bans precluding eligibility for RMR events

All according to O PLANO for Brazil; RBG to join them in the cs_summit 8 Closed Qualifier

So far the Closed Qualifier for the North American RMR event is half Brazilian.

The first of two open qualifiers for cs_summit 8, the North American Spring RMR event, has concluded and the two teams that have advanced to the Closed Qualifier for the event are O PLANO and RBG.

Triumph were granted a free pass to the open qualifier semifinal after Veloz forfeited due to scheduling conflicts.

O PLANO dominated the Party Astronauts to begin day two of their first showing as a newly-assembled roster. The Brazilians jumped out to an 11-4 lead on their CT side, led by Vinicius "vsm" Moreira's 17 kills. Party Astronauts managed just one round in their second half and quickly found themselves down 1-0 in the series.

The first half woes continued for Party Astronauts on Dust2, this time they found themselves trailing the South American side 12-3 when the side switch occurred. To their credit, Ben "ben1337" Smith's troops clawed their way back to a 10-13 deficit before O PLANO reached series point and converted it on their third attempt. Wesley "viz" Harris led all players with 25 kills on the map, but it was in vain as the Party Astronauts came crashing back down to earth.

RBG comfortably eased past HeadShotKings with a pair of 16-7 victories on Vertigo and Nuke. Connor "chop" Sullivan led all players with 43 kills in the two-map series, while Brennan "Lemonz" Lentz was the only player on HeadShotKings to eclipse the thirty-frag mark for the series, finishing with 37 kills.

Third Impact also dealt with their ESEA Advanced challenger swiftly and turned two 10-5 first-half leads into 16-8 and 16-10 victories on Inferno and Overpass, respectively. Third Impact were led by the tandem of Walker "walker" Harris and Brett "brett" Rhein, who each finished the series with 46 kills. On the other side of the server Andrew "Tender" Cote led Counter Nature with 37 frags in the series loss.

Triumph gave O PLANO all they could handle on Dust2, where they won seven of the final eight rounds, but failed to convert round thirty to win in regulation. O PLANO dominated overtime and seized the 1-0 series lead.

Once things shifted to Nuke, this series turned into the vsm show as the 21-year-old dropped a thirty bomb to send the Brazilians through to the Closed Qualifier. The funny deer team briefly flipped a 6-9 halftime deficit into a 12-10 lead, but then Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe's side won six of the final seven rounds to secure the map, series, and inched one step closer to cs_summit 8. vsm finished with 59 frags in the series, while Triumph were led by Brendan "Bwills" Williams and Austin "Cooper" Abadir with 46 kills apiece.

RBG continued to cause problems for Third Impact, an achilles heel acknowledged by walker on Twitter after the series. RBG jumped out to a 9-6 lead on Inferno and then were denied just one round on their T side en route to a 1-0 series lead. Jadan "HexT" Postma led the way with 21 kills, while it was his countryman, walker, who led Third Impact with 18 frags in the loss.

Third Impact found themselves down 9-6 at the half once again on Nuke, but rallied at the start of the second half to even things out at 11-11. Unfortunately for Noah "insane" Eheart's side, the 22nd round was the last that Third Impact managed, as RBG went into defensive lockdown and didn't allow so much as a bomb plant in the final five rounds. Jerric "wiz" Jiang led the server with 26 kills in the series and qualifier-clinching map, while Brennan "grape" Greer led Third Impact with 22 frags in the loss.
