NAVI conquer G2 for CS2 Final berth
G2 have officially been sent home packing as the first Counter-Strike 2 Major Grand Final is officially set. Natus Vincere will be playing FaZe to determine who comes away as the first CS2 champion of the new game.
Natus Vincere took home the crown after a thrilling back-and-forth contest that started on Anubis. The Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen-led squad took a commanding 8-4 lead by the end of the first half. G2 would come back to tie it up at the end of regulation, but NAVI persisted as they converted the overtime to take the series lead.
G2 responded with a win on their own map pick of Nuke, where the squad was in command from the get-go. A 9-3 CT-side half was more than enough for G2 as they quickly converted their T-side to come away with a 13-7 map win, forcing Ancient to come into play.
Ancient began as a disaster for G2 as NAVI convincingly came away with a strong 8-4 lead. G2 were fighting a losing battle as they were down 11-6, but somehow the squad came together to give it their all and started to comeback. With the map reaching the 26th round, as NAVI led 12-11, G2 were overrun and lost the last round of regulation to be sent home.
NAVI and FaZe are preparing to play one another today for the CS2 Major Championship crown.
