3ARK00Z is hoping to land a spot on a new team

3ARK00Z steps down from GGPR active roster; open to offers

The Jordanian player will play for the team as a sixth man while looking for a new team to call home.

Omar "3ARK00Z" Elyyan has stepped down from GGPR's active roster, Dust2.us has learned.

The team's Premier season got off to a rough start, falling 0-2 in their opening match to Oceanus, where they were forced to use backup Brandon "YuZ" Cyr for Michael "Turismo" Haas. 3ARK00Z had previously had a strong showing against the same squad in the open qualifier for DreamHack Open January, posting a 1.59 rating and 47-29 K-D despite losing the match in overtime, but GGPR as a whole were unable to get much going in their Premier rematch.

When contacted by Dust2.us, 3ARK00Z confirmed that he will step down from the roster and play as a sixth man while he awaits an offer from another team. He stated that while  the team "helped him", the situation as a whole "did not work." He is the second player to leave the starting lineup after Turismo was kicked last week after failing to play in their Premier match against Oceanus.

With 3ARK00Z stepping down, GGPR's roster looks as follows:

  • United States Chase "lowrider" Releford
  • United States Evan "Creed" Dao
  • United States Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott
  • United States Erich "ninja" Beyer (Coach)
  • United States Jake "eXotic" Vaupell (Backup)
  • Canada Brandon "YuZ" Cyr (Backup)
  • Omar "3ARK00Z" Elyyan (Backup)

GGPR are set to face off against Rise tonight at 9 PM EST, and will likely field two stand-ins as they begin the search for two new players to refill their ranks.

Always a bummer to see a team explode on impact with Premier. Usually doesn't get better from there. Hopefully they can get some new players a bit of stability to make a real go of it.

I have a feeling that teams struggling to maintain rosters after making premier and competition starts to get harder stems partially from poor out of game communication. Being able to discuss issues constructively without things getting personal is super important if a team wants their roster to have any sort of longevity. This is one aspect of team CS that good IGLs and good coaches can have a lot of impact.

As the coach of GGPR i would like to confirm arkooz and exotic will be starting now, we had some early season issues but we are moving forward with that 5 and yuz as our stand in as needed.
