The two veterans have been leading from the front

What to expect from Legacy v. TheMongolz

Brazil v. TheMongolz is never good, is it?

Legacy's path in this Major is nothing short of incredible. After shocking everyone in Round 1 with a win over FURIA, Marcelo "coldzera" David turned back the years and put on a stellar performance, fans were convinced that it was a fluke. However, the team proved that to be completely false, as they made it competitive against Cloud9 and demolished Apeks.

TheMongolz, the youngest team in the Major, has been underwhelming. Many were expecting them to qualify with relative ease but had to survive two labored BO3 elimination series against AMKAL and Lynn Vision. Throw that out of the window now, because TheMongolz love a good series against Brazilians.

Keeping the Legacy alive

This is regarded as coldzera's team, bringing the young guns from GODSENT and 00 NATION and adding Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato as one more experienced player to the IGL role. But this team is much more than that. coldzera and NEKIZ are showing they still have what it takes to perform at the highest level while showcasing what Brazil has to offer in terms of talent.

  • 90% win rate when Legacy win 4+ T-side rounds, since Americas RMR

  • Ancient will be crucial in this series

  • Experience is on the Brazilians' side

  • Carry the momentum from yesterday

Asian CS back to reality

Yes, TheMongolz are just one BO3 away from qualifying, but how did they get here? They lost to Eternal Fire and ECSTATIC, two teams that are already qualified for the next stage, and then survived with a 2-1 win over AMKAL and showed some better signs as they took down Lynn Vision 2-0. Not the strongest opponents, but can they ride the wave and keep the wins going?

  • 910 is finally putting up good numbers

  • 4 straight wins on Inferno and Ancient

  • Won't play their usual first pick of Mirage

  • Come into the series with a confidence boost after two wins in a row

Previous Matchups

These two teams have not faced each other previously, but the Brazilians don't have a good record against TheMongolz. In fact, TheMongolz last lost against Brazil at IEM Oakland 2017, against SK Gaming and coldzera. Since then, the Mongolians have defeated Imperial once and FURIA twice.

As for other Mongolian teams, IHC, with two current TheMongolz players, only lost twice against Brazilians, once against MIBR in 2023 and once against Imperial in 2022, and gathered wins over FURIA, paiN, and 00 NATION, coldzera's team at the time.

Likely Vetoes

  • TheMongolz ban Vertigo

  • Legacy ban Mirage

  • TheMongolz pick Nuke

  • Legacy pick Overpass

  • Ancient will be the decider
