Imperial can't overcome ECSTATIC; Do or Die series tomorrow
Imperial could taste qualification for the next stage of the PGL Copenhagen Major, but ECSTATIC proved too much of a challenge for the Brazilians, who went down without winning a single map against the Danes.
With this loss, Imperial have one last shot at advancing to the Elimination Stage. In the 2-2 bracket, tomorrow, thanks to FURIA's clean win against ENCE, Imperial are going to face GamerLegion.
The series opened with Anubis, picked by Imperial, but that very quickly went sideways for them. Despite having had a 3-2 lead on the CT-side, ECSTATIC's T-side created an 8-4 gap, which was complemented by a flawless 5-0 CT-side to take Imperial's pick.
Inferno had Imperial on the CT-side to start, again, and win the pistol, again. That wouldn't be enough, because, even after getting a 6-3 lead at one point, Imperial found themselves tied at 6-6 to close the half. Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo and co. would go on to grab a 10-7 lead but it was a very close final stretch of the map with every round being extremely closely contested, with Imperial, eventually winning it 13-10.
The decider map would be Vertigo and Imperial would go back to the T-side to start it off. Unfortunately, it was a slow start for the Brazilians, as ECSTATIC quickly got a huge 7-0 lead that turned into an 11-1 CT-side half. Imperial would start the second half with four straight round wins until the Danes secured series and qualification point. The Brazilians charged back and got very close to sending the game to overtime, but ECSTATIC put an end to the series with a 13-9 score.
