Trio claim FPL spots via FPL Proving Grounds

After a week of competition in FPL Proving Grounds three players have claimed the top prizes.

The first-ever NA FPL Proving Grounds has come to an end, with Qihao "C4LLM3SU3" Su, Bezymeccc, and Andrew "Drew" Warkentin earning spots in FPL after being chosen out of a pool of 125 FPL hopefuls. The competition in the FPL Proving Grounds hub ran from February 26th to March 3rd, seeing the players queue against each other to climb the leaderboard while hoping to earn the attention of NA FPL's judges, players, and fans.

Ultimately the aforementioned trio performed well enough to claim spots in each of their respective roles, thus earning spots in FPL alongside a $1,000 a month stipend for four months to encourage them to focus on improving in FPL.

Alongside the stipend, Bezymeccc and C4LLM3SU3 also earned $7,500 and $5,000, respectively, for topping the hub's leaderboard while Drew earned $1,500 for finishing in seventh place. Interestingly, Bezymeccc claimed the top spot in the hub and the overall achievement of qualifying to FPL despite lacking any team experience, having yet to play for a team in ESEA League during his career.

With the first season of FPL Proving Grounds concluding, FACEIT have surprisingly opted to discontinue the program following feedback from players that it was too difficult to follow. Instead FACEIT Season 2 will feature a direct path into FPL for the top three teams, with the Proving Grounds prize money being reallocated into FACEIT Season 2's prizepool.
