KayJay leaves RBG

The Canadian coach takes his leave from the roster due to his impending deployment with the Canadian Army.

RBG head coach Kieran "KayJay" Playfair has announced that he has parted ways with the MDL roster due to his impending deployment with the Canadian Army in January, bringing an end to his 16-month long tenure with the team.

KayJay played a key part in RBG's rise through the ranks of ESEA, helping the team earn promotion from ESEA Advanced to MDL. In their debut MDL season, RBG earned a spot in playoffs with a 10-6 record, but were eliminated from contention following back-to-back losses to oNe and Depth.

In a Twitter post, KayJay praised his former teammates by stating they can "all achieve [their] goals as long as [they] stay humble and don't rush it." He also gave credit to the RBG organization, saying that they were "by far the best" organization he had been a part of before revealing that he intends to dabble a little more in coaching, casting, and content creation before going on deployment.

With KayJay's departure, RBG's roster consists of:

  • Canada Austin "gmanchew" Vieira
  • Canada Colby  "Walco" Walsh
  • Canada Jadan "HexT" Postma
  • United States Jerric "wiz" Jiang

RBG will look to find a fifth player and new head coach ahead of the start of ESEA MDL Season 36 in 2021.
