Shimmer fall to FURIA and exit ESL Impact Season 4 LAN Finals
Shimmer started off ESL Impact Season 4 LAN Finals with a 13-7 loss against tournament contenders NAVI Javelins and fell into the lower bracket where they would meet FURIA, who lost their opener Bo1 against 9 Pandas Fearless. With a last-minute stand-in, Shimmer weren't able to really contest the series, despite winning three pistol rounds in four played.
With this loss, Shimmer are the first team out of the final stage of the ESL Impact Season 4. The team goes back home with a bittersweet taste after showing good signs despite the circumstances and the results.
The series started on Shimmer's Overpass with the North American team winning the T-side pistol round and the next one. That would be it for a while, as FURIA would warm up and get seven straight before Shimmer got back on the board. The Brazilians would end the half on a high with two more rounds, making it 9-3. Shimmer would once again win the pistol round, this time on the defensive side, but FURIA would get the force buy right after and never look back, as the map ended 13-4.
Ancient, picked by FURIA, had Shimmer once again opening with a pistol round win but, once again, it would be the Brazilians getting an early lead. The North Americans managed to go into the half down 8-4. With everything to do, Shimmer would sink a bit more after losing the second-half pistol round. The North American team would get a fifth round but that would be it, with FURIA taking the 13-5 map win and the 2-0 series victory.
Shimmer are now out of ESL Impact Season 4 LAN Finals, while FURIA will face NAVI Javelins tomorrow in a Bo3 decider series that starts at 08:00AM.
