Tennis star joins M80 ownership

The world #3 men's player has invested in M80.

Sergio Agüero, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Graham Glasgow, and now... Daniil Medvedev? The Russian tennis professional was announced this morning as a new investor in American-based esports organization M80.

The highly accomplished tennis player is known for his aggression on the court and as one of the game's more accomplished athletes. He has won 20 ATP singles titles and the 2021 U.S. Open.

His connection to esports is unique, with the player reportedly a fan of Rainbox Six: Siege and was named by Ubisoft as an ambassador on August 29th. As for M80, the organization is part of Ubisoft's Siege R6 Share program and competes in the North American league. The organization also holds North American teams in Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, and Rocket League.

Medvedev joining the organization makes sense, likely due to his fondness of Rainbow Six: Siege. M80 signed their first squad in late 2022 and have had moderate success, with a second-place finish at Gamers 8, top-eight finish at the Six Invitational, and two top-16 finishes at the two Majors this year.
