Thunderpick make last minute change to NA Closed Qualifier team list

ESL Challenger League team LAG have claimed a last-second invite to the first Thunderpick World Champion North American Closed Qualifier, replacing Strife in the online qualifier. The change comes after the LAG players spoke out about not receiving an invite despite being ranked higher and in a higher division than many of the ESEA Advanced teams invited to the qualifier.

Fortunately for LAG, their protests bore fruit after Strife had to pull out of the qualifier, receiving an invite in their place. David "J0LZ" Jolin told Dust2.us that the team had to pull out from the event due to Cedric "Melio" Perrault being on vacation while their planned stand-in for the event, Antoine "Sup3rant" Dubois, would be unable to get off of work ahead of Strife's opening match.

With LAG's addition, the qualifier has become even more stacked, with the talent lined up constituting the majority of squads contesting for spots in the upcoming ESL Challenger League Season 47 playoffs.
