Nouns can't surprise Heroic
Nouns' Thunderpick World Championship opener had them face off against Heroic, a tough opponent even after all the drama involving the team. Although a loss for the NA side was expected, fans still wanted to see a fierce Nouns team fighting every round.
Fans got more than what they expected, as Nouns were able to win a map and cause some chaos in the other two maps, despite the final results. With this loss, Nouns are one series away from elimination.
The series started off in Heroic's Nuke, which is Nouns' best map. Unfortunately for the NA side, Danish pugs are very much known for their fondness toward Nuke and Heroic embodied that, as they put up an 8-4 T-side half and a 5-1 CT-side half, crushing Nouns 13-5
On the bright side, Nouns still had their own pick of Mirage. A back-and-forth first half ended in a tied 6-6 score at halftime, as Nouns transitioned to the CT-side. This time the North Americans managed to string four rounds together, which would prove to be crucial as they won the map 13-11.
The decider would be played on Vertigo, one of the least played maps from Nouns. Despite this, the team showed good signs, but couldn't really produce many rounds on the T-side, going into halftime down 9-3. With such a deficit, Heroic cruised to the finish line with four rounds after five played in the second half. 13-4 was the final score.
Nouns still have a chance to stay alive in the Thunderpick World Championship, as they will face the loser of the series between BIG vs. FURIA.
