NiSMO steps down from New England Whalers

The team's longest serving member has stepped down for personal reasons.

With ESEA MDL Season 33 finally underway, New England Whalers are now on the lookout for a new fifth before even playing a match as Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar has announced he is stepping down from team.

NiSMO originally joined the squad back in Season 30, helping slashLEVEL qualify to MDL after besting Old Guys Club and The Fundamentals in MDL relegation. Since then, the team have undergone a number of changes leaving NiSMO as the sole remaining original member of the lineup.

New England Whalers were recently spotted using Daniel "roca" Gustaferri  in the first ESL One Rio qualifier in place of NiSMO however it is currently unknown if he is set to join on a permanent basis.

Additionally, sources close to the team tell Dust2.us that they are currently looking at enlisting the services of Linus "Limpone" Wecksell as the team's coach. Limpone is notably the younger brother of Fnatic's Jesper "JW" Wecksell and briefly served as Singularity's analyst alongside their first North American team.

As a result, New England Whalers are now:

  • Canada Jonathan "djay" Dallal
  • United States Lucas "Fiziq" Blow
  • United States Brandon "BOOBIE" Roberts
  • United States Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue

As previously mentioned, New England Whalers are currently competing in ESEA MDL Season 33 which began on February 3rd after a long delay. New England Whalers first match is set to be against Swole Identity although it has yet to be scheduled.
