floppy was hoping to face off against Evil Geniuses

floppy: "I would say EliGE fits in quite well"

floppy says that the team is doing a lot of learning with their new teammate.

Complexity's showing in their second match in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups was a far cry from their performance in the first; a quick 2-0 thrashing by Vitality has sent the North American side to the lower bracket where they will face off against NIP once again. Shortly after the loss to Vitality, Dust2.us' Gonçalo "GoncOak" Carvalho spoke with Ricky "floppy" Kemery regarding the match versus Vitality, what it has been like working with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, and the team's plan ahead of their next match.

Tough loss for you guys. We know that Vitality are one of the best teams in the world at the moment, but you guys still didn't look like yourselves today. What happened?

I think Vitality are definitely just on their A-game right now, and obviously, we didn't play up to our standard whatsoever today, it was really bad from us. We just have a lot to talk about after this game today.

If you look at the team's stats for the last six months, you have had much more success playing Overpass than Inferno. Why not lean into your statistically strongest map?

I'm not involved with the vetoes at all, so I have no idea. That's not my expertise on the team.

The team has only changed one piece during the break, adding EliGE as your teammate. How would you say he fits within the team?

I would say EliGE fits in quite well in terms of the roles and personality as well. The roles are basically one-for-one for FaNg, so it makes a lot of sense for him to be on the team.

Have you learned anything new with him?

We're learning everyday, after every loss and scrim and match. We're just trying our best with him.

You top-fragged for Complexity on Vertigo. Can we expect you to do that more times in the future?

I'll try my best (laughs).

After a series like this, how do you reset mentally? What are you guys going to do when you get to the hotel and before the next game?

We have the next two days just for practice before our next game versus NIP or Evil Geniuses, so we're going to use the next few days and talk about what happened today and get as much practice in as we can with EliGE.

JamezIRL has been trialing as an assistant coach with you guys. How has it been working with him?

JamezIRL is cool; I've known him for a long time now and worked with him in the past. He's really nice to be around and he brings a lot to the team.

You will face EG or NIP next. Do you have any expectations, or a favorite opponent out of the two?

I'd like to play EG because they're from NA, but obviously, I think NIP are a bit of a better team than them, so we're probably going to have the rematch against NIP.

Complexity are slated to return to action on July 18th at 09:00AM with a rematch against Swedish side Complexity.
