madcow has moved on from Evil Geniuses

Party Astronauts bolster roster with three additions

The Astronauts did not take long to fill the gaps left in their lineup.

Party Astronauts have announced the additions of three members to their squad, with former Davenport University darling William "spek" Smith taking the spot following Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk's exit from the squad. In addition, Nathan "madcow" Retterath and Luke "Viathan" Carstens will be assisting the team behind the scenes after the departure of Hunter "Lucid" Tucker.

No doubt the most impactful addition to the squad is spek, who most recently spent time with BHOP competing in ECL Season 45 Relegation, helping the team retain their spot in the top domestic league. spek is most well known for his time on Davenport University's D1 squad, averaging a 1.07 rating across his near year-long tenure with the team before the program's dissolution. This marks spek's return to ECL, having last competed in Season 44 with the Davenport squad before missing out on Season 45.

In addition to spek, Party Astronauts have also acquired the services of madcow and Viathan as coaches for the squad.madcow returns to the coaching role after a nearly one-year stint with Evil Geniuses as a player manager for the organization. Sources have informed Dust2.us that madcow has been recently released from his contract with Evil Geniuses, allowing for his move to Party Astronauts to come to fruition.

Viathan's addition to Party Astronauts comes after most recently working with Take Flyte as the squad's coach, assisting the team during Season 45 of ECL. Prior to his time with Take Flyte, Viathan also served as an assistant coach for Davenport University's D1 team, with his decision to join up with Party Astronauts reuniting him with spek after almost four months apart.

Party Astronauts are now:

  • United States Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue

  • United States Ben "ben1337" Smith

  • United States Wesley "viz" Harris

  • United States Connor "chop" Sullivan

  • United States William "spek" Smith

  • United States Nathan "madcow" Retterath (Coach)

  • United States Luke "Viathan" Carstens (Assistant Coach)

Party Astronauts will make their debut with this new lineup in the quarterfinals of the Thunderpick World Championship North America Series 1, where the team is slated to face off against timbermen on Sunday at 07:00PM.
