Could neaLaN be on a new team soon?

GamerLegion reportedly targeting Evil Geniuses' IGL

Could one of EG's more important past pieces be on the move?

Evil Geniuses technically have put more players on their bench than entire teams have on their payroll since they moved away from the entire Blueprint model and adopted the EG Black roster as their main squad. It's been a turbulent time for the organization, but they are hoping to find some stability in a youthful crew.

With that, it means that players from their main roster have become available on the market, including players like Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and Will "RUSH" Wierzba, two of America's top players in the late 2010s. Additionally, one of the brightest spots for Evil Geniuses in the last year, Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov has also been placed on the bench and appears to be on the move.

CIS insider harumi tweeted out this morning, "GamerLegion +neaLan", which provides us with little more information than just that GamerLegion has likely inquired about his services. Dust2.us does not have additional information regarding the potential move at this time.

The move makes sense on paper for all parties, as neaLaN likely does not have any significant options in the United States as Complexity have declined to make further changes to their squad since adding Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski for Justin "FaNg" Coakly earlier. GamerLegion is on the hunt for a new IGL since they lost Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek to MOUZ. siuhy led GamerLegion to a Major Finals appearance at the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major, a major upset for the squad.

GamerLegion is still on the hunt for a star fragger following the departure of Ivan "iM" Mihai to a newly reformed Natus Vincere that abandoned their CIS roots.

Should neaLaN join, GamerLegion will line up as:

  • Sweden Isak "isak" Fahlén

  • Denmark Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand

  • Nicolas "Keoz" Dgus

  • Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov

  • Ashley "ashh" Battye (Coach)
