Jeorge on LAN?!

Evil Geniuses look for extended stay in Europe

The player break might is effectively over for North America.

Evil Geniuses, fresh off of promoting their EG Black squad to the main lineup, are in Belgrade right now preparing for the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. After a year of disappointing results at the top level, the organization has made a major switch up as they intend to bet on their youth and bring in better results than before. With Timothy "autimatic" Ta leading a group of young North American stars, they've already begun preparing for their first matchup against Vitality.

The upcoming match will see Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott and Colby "Walco" Walsh make their BLAST Premier LAN debut, having already appeared in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown where they took down FURIA in an exciting 2-1 upset. for Jeorge, this call up has been a long time coming. Considered one of North America's top prospects, his debut as part of the main roster with Evil Geniuses will be met with much excitement.

To better prepare for the long-road ahead that Evil Geniuses has, the organization sent their team over to Serbia to bootcamp at the recently opened eNat Facility in Belgrade. The squad will be stationed there until the start of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. As part of Evil Geniuses' stay, they have been helping the facility "fine-tune" it as it hopes to become a hub for more teams.

Beyond that, Soham "valens" Chowdhurry explained to Dust2.us that Evil Geniuses is "looking at options" to extend the squad's stay in Europe, however the plans have not been finalized. With the Evil Geniuses new roster so incredibly young, it's clear that the focus is on the long-term plan for this core to develop into a stronger roster, rather than immediately win coming out of the gate. The organization has their first big test in just under a week as they start their LAN tour in Copenhagen, so time will tell if the practice has been worth it.

The organization is currently not headed to IEM Cologne, and unlike their regional friends over at Complexity, will not be receiving a last-minute invite due to another squad pulling out due to roster issues. However, the team will be participating in the Thunderpick World Champions online qualifier on July 27th, which is just a few days following the end of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.
