chelo will be able to continue celebrating with FalleN, but with another jersey

Official: FURIA confirm chelo

After the Times Square leak, any doubts quickly disappeared regarding the fifth player of the squad.

Just an hour after announcing Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, FURIA came back to Twitter to confirm the signing of Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes, as it was expected by fans.

chelo's announcement came early for fans taking a stroll down Times Square, as a video revealing the full Brazilian roster was displayed on a huge screen at the world-famous intersection, showing the 25-year-old alongside the other members of FURIA.

chelo has been climbing up the rankings of Brazilian Counter-Strike ever since joining MIBR on January 2021, where he spent more than 18 months, before leaving for Imperial for 10 months. After yesterday's farewell from Imperial, it was almost guaranteed that the rifler would be joining FalleN on his departure from the organization that hosted the Brazilian Last Dance.

During his time with Imperial, chelo averaged a 1.12 rating after 99 maps played, being the second-best player on the roster since joining, and leaving a massive gap to be filled by his replacement.

Imperial has until the 12th of July to find two new players thanks to the roster lock deadline date of IEM Cologne Play-in stage. Meanwhile, FURIA can now completely turn their focus to said competition and try to hit the ground running with their two new stars.

FURIA's new roster after the player break is officially:

  • Brazil Yuri "yuurih" Santos

  • Brazil Andrei "arT" Piovezan

  • Brazil Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato

  • Brazil Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo

  • Brazil Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes

  • Brazil Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (Coach)
