FalleN signs through 2025, acquired for more than half a million
A report by ge has allegedly revealed details of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's contract with FURIA, the foremost Brazilian Counter-Strike organization. The report claims that FURIA spent 3.5 million Brazilian Reals, approximately $700,000 USD, to buy out his contract from Imperial, FalleN's former team.
The report also stipulates that FalleN is contracted with FURIA for two years, through most of 2025. This comes as a surprise with FalleN recently planning to retire at the end of 2023, but perhaps the excitement of a new team and relative success with Imperial has brought the competitive spark back to him. In any case, it's clear now that we have yet to see the end of FalleN in Counter-Strike.
FalleN comes into FURIA as the team undergoes some large restructuring, also obtaining the talents of Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes to bolster their squad. With these changes, FURIA hope they can compete for trophies on the international stage, something the Brazilian scene has been dearly missing since the golden age of FalleN.
FURIA's new roster will debut at the IEM Cologne Play-Ins, slated to begin on July 26th.
