paiN advance to Brazy Party Playoffs
paiN and 00 Nation had to battle each other for the last Group B spot in the playoffs of Brazy Party. Both teams found themselves tied with a 1-1 record. paiN started their run with a loss against Into the Breach and then a win against BIG, whereas 00 Nation achieved the same results in the opposite order. Fate would have the two Brazilians decide between each other who would progress in the competition.
The series started off on paiN's Anubis, where the Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt-led team proved to be on point with a 10-5 T-side half, despite losing the pistol round and the following two rounds. The second half also opened with a pistol round win for 00 Nation, but that would only delay paiN's victory which came not long after. After the three straight rounds for 00 Nation, paiN would reply with three of their own and then 00 Nation replicated the same streak. The score still favored paiN 13-11, and they would only let the opposition win one more round on that map, winning their pick 16-12.
Mirage, 00 Nation's pick, would see the "home" team winning yet another pistol round, but round wins would be a rather rare sight for the T-side of Marcelo "coldzera" David's men, as they would only win four more rounds, as paiN went to the half with a 10-5 advantage. Once again 00 Nation managed to win the pistol round, making it four out of four, but once again that would prove to be unfruitful as paiN would be able to come out on top despite always losing the opening rounds of the series. This time 00 Nation came a bit closer, but it was not enough as the map ended 16-13 in favor of paiN, who won the series 2-0.
With this win, paiN are the only Brazilian representatives heading to the playoffs of Brazy Party, and 00 Nation are eliminated. The playoffs start Monday, with the quarterfinals in a single elimination format.
