EG got off to a poor start thanks to travel issues

Evil Geniuses falter in CCT despite admirable stand-in performance

Despite a stellar showing from forsyy, EG fell in the first leg of their European tour.

Evil Geniuses were a late addition to the CCT Central Europe Series 6 and only announced their participation the morning of their first game. However, the team was seemingly not all together as Jerric "wiz" Jang had a flight delayed, which necessitated benched SINNERS player David "forsyy" Bílý to stand in for the first two maps against Jesper "JW" Wecksell's Eyeballers.

The back and forth match started off on Evil Geniuses' pick of Mirage, where the American side were immediately put on the backfoot as they struggled to get five rounds in the first half on their T-side. The second half came somewhat easier, but still difficult against the Swedes as they would lose Mirage 16-12.

With Eyeballers now in prime position to take it home 2-0 on their pick of Overpass, they would not be able to capitalize as the Seattle-based team utterly dominated on their CT-side, only letting the Swedes through a few times en route to a 12-3 half. Despite Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov's men being in prime position, they would stumble on their T-side, but still close it out 16-9.

Finally, time had come David "forsyy" Bílý to depart the team as wiz had arrived from his late flight and was ready to play. However, wiz didn't seem fully ready to play as he struggled to find frags or impact, something EG could not afford. The squad would struggle in their final map on Inferno where the Swedes would close it out 16-10.

Evil Geniuses are obviously in Europe at the moment, likely getting a bootcamp to practice with their full five which includes newboy Ismail "refrezh" Ali.

I feel like the decision to keep wiz on the lineup was a poor one. I have nothing against the guy, I think he's great but it seems like he's just not ready for tier 1. Maybe it's my imagination but I feel like he's always the one underperforming.
