Teams have Paris in their sights now

BLAST.tv Paris Major Round 1 Challenger match-ups

Brazil vs Brazil and NA vs EU tier 2 will open the Major for the Americas region.

The BLAST.tv Paris Major is right around the corner with just 20 days before teams take it to the servers on the City of Light. With the conclusion of all regional qualifiers, the opening match-ups are already decided for this Major's Challenger and Contender teams.

The Americas region is going into the last CS:GO Major with one thing in mind, recovering the Challengers Stage spot lost at IEM Rio. To do so, there needs to be three Americas teams present in the Legends stage, meaning, two Americas Challengers Stage teams have to advance in the tournament.

With the only one spot in the Legends Stage going to FURIA, the rest of the Americas' teams will have to fight in the Challengers Stage in order to advance in the Paris Major. Liquid, Complexity, paiN, and Fluxo will have a tough nut to crack in Europe, as the seeding for the first match wasn't kind for the region.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian fans, paiN and Fluxo will go head-to-head to open their run at the BLAST.tv Major, while Complexity will face the always dangerous GamerLegion, and Liquid will battle against Fragadelphia 17 semifinalists, Apeks.

The rest of the draw for the first round will bring a lot of action, with OG vs ENCE, and NIP vs MOUZ being the most eye-catching games. The remaining three BO1s will see FaZe vs Monte, G2 vs The Mongolz, and FORZE vs Grayhound.

There are no easy games going into the major, and as the last one ever to be played in CS:GO, the BLAST.tv Paris Major is starting to feel like one for the ages, with many upsets already happening during the RMRs, such as the winners of the previous Major not being present in Paris. The BLAST.tv Paris Major will start on May 8th at 06:00AM

The match-ups for the first round of BO1s are:

Monte vs FaZe
Brazil paiN vs Brazil Fluxo
G2 vs The Mongolz
GamerLegion vs Compleity

FORZE vs Australia Grayhound
Apeks vs United States Liquid
NIP vs MOUZ
OG vs ENCE
