Valve prohibit Paris-themed team stickers

Are the more creative creations now gone?

With the BLAST.tv Paris Major RMR events finally completed, the community is now looking forward to the last ever CS:GO Major and the fun in-game collector items that will come with it. With the hype of Counter-Strike 2 already sending weapon case prices skyrocketing, the hype for all items has never been greater.

Throughout history, some teams and players have taken liberties with the iconic team and player sticker items, with players even hiring out designers to create memorable and eternal items that live on in the game.

Some organizations, however, have tried to embrace that same creativity in creating a distinct item that fans will enjoy. Most notably, Liquid incorporated three nation's flags into their sticker for the 2018 FACEIT London Major.

With the upcoming BLAST.tv Paris Major being the last CS:GO Major with the arrival of CS2 coming this summer, it looks as though fans should not expect any unique team stickers coming out.

According to an email sent to teams, and published by Complexity CS:GO General Manager Graham "messioso" Pitt, teams should "not submit a bespoke logo designed for the Paris Major, and should not submit a logo that is only used in merchandise".

Additionally, the logo that teams "submit should be the same as the one your use for public branding and in the HUD for tournaments". With the clear language laid out here, it seems that we will not be able to see another unique logo like the Liquid 2018 FACEIT London Major sticker that has become a favorite.

Throughout the years, teams like G2 and MIBR have used the French and Brazilian flag, respectively, in their stickers. FaZe has altered their sticker multiple times, as well as Liquid with multiple variations of a background. Now, however, it looks like we might not see those in the future.

As for player signatures, it looks like there will be no changes to the current guidelines, however Valve has always been restrictive in what they allow players have. Does this mean that we could see a player include an Eiffel Tower in their signature? Potentially, but for now, we will just have to hope for the best.

i wonder why they would implement this, if anything, it would make the sticker more unique and more people would be more interested in getting the sticker
